Hitaji Development Initiative is a non-governmental, non-political, and non-religious national organization registered in Kenya under the Public Benefit Organizations (PBO) Act. Founded in 2011, Hitaji works to address the challenges and needs that women and girls face in rural Kenya, particularly in Migori County.

Vincent Ochieng’ is a volunteer working with Hitaji Development Initiative although he has been associated with HDI informally for the last five years. Vincent provides assistance with keeping, maintaining, and updating financial records. He also conducts field visits to schools that HDI girls attend and women groups. He brings a lot of passion to working with and helping poor and disadvantaged girls and women. Vincent is extremely organized and works both independently and within a team very well, skills that have contributed to his success at all his responsibilities at HDI. Vincent loves growing with others.
