Testimonials

I was privileged to join Nyandago Secondary School through Hitaji’seducational scholarship, which covered my fees and upkeep.

The regular mentorship sessions helped me overcome cultural and social barriers and I am currently pursuing a Diploma in Civil Engineering.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Hitaji kept us connected to mentors through calls and online meet-ups, where we gained life skills, encouragement, and girl-to-girl support.

This experience shaped my confidence and determination for the future.

I was privileged to join Oyugi Ogango Girls Secondary Schools through Hitaji's educational scholarship, which covered my fees.

The regular mentorship sessions helped me build a strong personality and understand how to balance life and education as a young girl.

I am currently working as a Trade Finance Officer. Hitaji has always kept us connected through physical meetups, even after my college life.

This experience has helped me have a close relationship with the other alumni, and we encourage each other as we navigate life after college.

As Regional Chairperson, I have seen firsthand how Hitaji’s women’s economic program has transformed lives in Migori, Kenya.

Through the component of revolving fund and entrepreneurship training, our women groups have grown their local businesses and food security in homes.

In addition, Hitaji women’s soccer has become more than just a sport, it is a platform where women and girls gain vital health education and maintain physical fitness.
